Why PapayaJambalaya?

Us

DSC_1592print[1]Hi!

My name is Jackie, friends call me Jax.

Thanks for stopping by my blog!

In 2006, I married the man of my dreams.  Well, ok – the second man of my dreams after the first dream ended in divorce (umm.. ok, third actually, if you count the broken engagement I had when I was 26).   Seems the first and second men of my dreams both have the same name, but that can be handy sometimes.

With my Huzbo came a mini-me son (a 2-for-1 deal) who lives with us half of the time and who is brilliant, often makes me laugh but sometimes makes me cry.  Just like any kid, right?   I always wanted children (that call ME mommy) and my husband wanted more children, so after we married, we marched off to the fertility specialist for a year of unsuccessful treatments. Our fertility failures did lead us to the most amazing journey of our life – adopting our daughter.  Our brilliant daughter has been a part of our family since 2009 and is the joy of my life, and sometimes the cause of my pillow being soaked with tears.  Seems to be a bit of a recurring theme with children, doesn’t it?

So, here we are at my blog.  My crazy, busy, wonderful, brutal life.  My sweet and fruity stories – my papaya.  My spicy, salty mash-up of everything  – my jambalaya.

My Papaya Jambalaya – hope you enjoy reading about it!

  1. Thank you so much for speaking out about the Frozen movie. I keep asking where r the people of color in Frozen are. on Facebook, Now I need 2 ask Disney. What upset me the most was when my 8yr old grandson told me “it alright grand-ma, they put a moose in to represent us.” Come on now. This is going 2 far.
